A Wedding to Remember, Fireworks, and an Encouraging Summer Market

Dear Friends,

What an exceptional weekend that just occurred! I am beyond thrilled to share that on Saturday I married my best friend, Michael Perleoni, surrounded by our dearest friends and family.

It was the beautiful culmination of a 5-year love story that began during COVID, and included a move to New York City, then to Washington, DC, and ended on a balmy Saturday afternoon at St. Anne’s Parish in Annapolis, where we began our lifetime together.

The day was perfect in every way, and the setting was a full-circle life moment, bringing me back to my roots in Annapolis, where we intend to settle. Every moment was all the sweeter with Reid beaming with pride and happiness, and with my Dad Charlie’s everpresent spirit looking down on us, helping celebrate this beautiful life moment. Words cannot express our joy and gratitude.

Because our motto at Buckley Waterfront Homes is “Treating Our Clients Like Family For Over 30 Years,” it was personally very important that I share this exciting news with all of you. Here are a few photos from the big day!

I very much hope all of your dreams, both real estate and personal, also come true.

With gratitude,

Meagan

Rates Dip, Sales Pick Up – Encouraging Signs Heading Into Summer

Mortgage rates ticked up slightly heading into the summer market. According to Freddie Mac, the average 30-year fixed rate was 6.49% as of June 25, up from 6.47% the week before. Rates have held relatively steady over the past several weeks, and while they remain elevated compared to recent years, they’re still Lower than they were a year ago.

That’s pairing with a stronger national sales picture: existing-home sales rose 3.2% in May, both month-over-month and year-over-year, according to the National Association of Realtors. NAR’s chief economist pointed to improving affordability as part of the story – in most of the country, income gains are slightly outpacing home price growth, even with rates still elevated compared to a few years back.

In our experience, news like this tends to bring buyers who had been sitting on the fence back into serious conversations, especially heading into the back half of summer. We’re keeping an eye on how it plays out closer to home over the next few weeks.

Thinking about how this affects your specific plans? Reach out today – we’d be happy to talk it through.
