Waterfront Market Report
While it is too soon to make any long-term predictions about the impact of the government shutdown on the greater Annapolis and Eastern Shore waterfront markets, if any, many of you have asked us independently about the state of the waterfront market through September. Overall, given our level of client activity over the summer, the market has felt nothing short of resurgent. To validate this perception, we looked at data for the period from June 1 to September 30. The actual year-over-year waterfront settlements reveal a 46% increase in sales in Anne Arundel County and a 21% increase in sales in Queen Anne County. These statistics tell us that the waterfront market is not just resilient — it's booming! In addition, there are 52 waterfront properties under contract in Anne Arundel County and 20 under contract in Queen Anne. See the chart below for the actual numbers:
