Waterfront Homes for Sale
Annapolis, MD

Situated on the Chesapeake Bay at the mouth of the Severn River, Annapolis is the capital of Maryland and the county seat of Anne Arundel County. It offers a relaxed, coastal lifestyle with plenty of charm, community, and history. It’s ideal for those who enjoy waterfront activities, and with a population of 40,000, it has the feel of a close-knit and vibrant community.
Downtown Annapolis is known for its charming cobblestone streets and well-preserved Colonial and Federal-style homes, many dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries. The area also boasts stunning waterfront homes along the Chesapeake Bay, its tributaries, and creeks. These properties are highly sought after and often come with docks, private beaches, or access to marinas.
Annapolis is highly walkable, with plenty of shops, cafes, and galleries to explore. Commuting in and around Annapolis is generally convenient, though the city’s historic layout and small size present some unique challenges and opportunities. The city offers seasonal shuttles and circulator trolleys, especially around the Historic District and major event venues. These are convenient for tourists and locals visiting downtown, as are the local and regional bus options.
Finally, Annapolis has several bike-friendly trails, like the B&A Trail (following the route of the former Baltimore and Annapolis Railroad), which connects Annapolis to Glen Burnie.

Brief History of Annapolis, MD
Brief History of
Annapolis, MD
Downtown Annapolis holds the distinction of once being the nation’s capital city, when the Treaty of Paris, ending the Revolutionary War, was signed here. The Maryland State House, where George Washington resigned his commission as General of the Continental Army in 1783, towers over the city at the top of State Circle. The same State House, the oldest in continuous legislative use in the United States, is still bustling when the Maryland General Assembly meets in its chambers. Each year, numerous state functions are hosted here, and the governor and lieutenant governor have offices in the building.
